About this Trip

We are very excited to introduce this birding safari in Uganda. We will be in the good hands of our local tour operator, Journeys Uganda and will be led by an experienced birding guide with knowledge of other wildlife and culture. The trip starts in central Uganda in Entebbe and heads down to Lake Mburo, one of the best savannah parks for birding in Uganda as it attracts species from Northern Tanzania. From here, we visit Africa’s number one birding site according to African Birding Club, the amazing Bwindi Impenetrable Forest which is also home to the gorillas. We then explore both sections of Queen Elizabeth National Park, with the biggest birding checklist ever recorded in any game reserve. Onto Kibale National Forest, the best site for the elusive Green Breasted Pitta and chimpanzees. Then we head to Murchison Falls National Park, divided into four sections all with excellent birding – Kaniyo Pabid (popular for the Puvel’s Illadopsis), the Royal Mile, Busingiro and Northern Murchison Falls, gifted with savannah northern migrants plus other rarities as well as an amazing safari experience.  Throughout the trip, our guide will be glad to share with you the different cultures of people and customs we will come across.
